Pinball

Pinball. It's a term we all know to one degree or any other and has been a part of Americana for as long as most of us have been alive. Pins took too long to reset when knocked down, so the pins eventually were fixed to the table and holes took the place of targets. That is you could win a replay (or *multiple* replays) by accomplishing particular feats (in addition to passing a set score). Raymond Maloney later founded the Bally manufacturing company of Chicago IL. The greater advanced pinball games have mini games included in them. In a mini game a person is rewarded by completing a task or hitting an area of the board a certain number of times. Rewards vary from large quantities of points to extra balls. For instance, "Attack From Mars" includes a mini game where the player must obtain the ball into the upper left quadrant 3 times on a given turn. It makes sense a multi-ball where as much as four balls come into the field of play at once pinball. Bally closed it's doors in 1988, selling it's assets to Williams who continued using the Bally name to release Pinball's until it too closed it's doors.
